For My Name Sake

For My Name Sake

  • To love Him and love Him only is the reason for life!

  • You have been a special part of all that we have done!

  • The Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ must never be erased or quashed!

During the late 1800s, the Englishman S. Trevor Francis penned these precious words that I have loved and sung for many years:

O the deep, deep love of Jesus, vast, unmeasured, boundless, free!

Rolling as a mighty ocean in its fullness over me!

Underneath me, all around me, is the current of Thy love

Leading onward, leading homeward to Thy glorious rest above!

Today, more than ever, loving Jesus fulfills you and me as believers completely and fully, yet there are many challenges that would silence Christians. God has a better way that reaches beyond all human limitations and every need that you have in your life!

I received Jesus as my Savior and Lord in 1972, and I can tell you after all these years that serving Him gives life meaning. Without Him there’s nothing but emptiness, chaos, confusion, bondage, and death. I’ve seen it from both sides!

To love Him and love Him only is the reason for life! It would have been better to have never been born than to live without Him. We are the ones who carry the fire of love in our hearts for Jesus, our most precious and adored Lord, and we must proclaim it to the ends of the earth, shouting it from the housetops, telling the world about the One who was, and is, and is to come!

Erasing Christ?

Yet in the world, the most precious Savior of hearts—beloved, and the lover of our souls—is actually hated. It was true when He lived on earth, and it is even more true today.

There are Christ haters in our society who want to remove any vestige of His memory from the minds of men. During this past Christmas season, this battle was illustrated so poignantly as a leading group of atheists mounted a billboard campaign in Times Square, the heart of New York City. The offensive billboard displayed images of a jolly Santa with a wooden figure of Jesus on the cross. The message: “Keep the merry! Dump the myth!”

An atheist spokesperson explained, “The true beauty of the season—family, friends, and love—have nothing to do with the gods of yesteryear. Indeed, the season is far more enjoyable without the religious baggage of guilt and judgmentalism. Dump the myth and have a happy holiday season.”

That is just one of many, many attempts to rid society (and even history) of any reference to our Lord Jesus Christ. Until recently, most Julian and Gregorian calendars were split historically by BC (Before Christ) and AD (Anno Domini, Latin for “in the year of our Lord”).

Now, however, there are many in society who simply prefer terms that do not mention Christ at all. These “historians” and social engineers now and have pushed for the use of “BCE” (Before the Common Era) and CE (Common Era). Today, this usage is widely accepted in literature, educational institutions, and scientific texts. “It’s less offensive and more inclusive to non-Christians,” we are told.

It’s natural, perhaps, that among many of the world’s religions, the drive to rid the world of any memory of Christ Jesus continues to accelerate. The idea of worshipping a god or any number of gods is much more acceptable than a Creator who sent His only begotten Son as a substitute for man’s sin, a Savior who declares, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes to the Father, except through Me” (John 14:6 NKJV).

Book Burning

So we should not be surprised that Christ, the anointed One, the Messiah, the Lamb of God, the “one mediator between God and men” (1 Timothy 2:5-6), was hated when He lived on earth. He was hated by both political and religious enemies who eventually murdered Him for His “heresies” and “treasonous acts.”

Likewise, His followers were hated by unbelievers. Jesus even taught, “If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you” (John 15:18). That hatred for Christ and Christians continues to this day.

Christ Haters Even in the Church

Sadly today, even many within the church have lost their love for our Lord Jesus Christ!

The church at Ephesus, “because thou has left thy first love” (Revelation 2:4), was told to repent. And to the church of the Laodiceans, “because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot,” God said, “I will vomit you out of My mouth” (Revelation 3:16).

It has only gotten worse, so much so that there are movements within today’s church to dismiss our Lord Jesus and what He taught in the Gospels. Some call it “extreme grace,” claiming that everything Jesus proclaimed was under the law, and now that we are free from it, we should follow the apostle Paul’s revelations, rather than Christ’s teaching.

In addition, this movement openly seeks to marginalize the Old Testament, Mosaic Law, as well as the words of Jesus Himself in deference to the Pauline doctrines. Many “extreme grace” people, in fact, teach that there is no need for repentance, confession of sin, fasting, nor seeking God (since He already sought us). They say, “When you sin, all you need to do is think of the finished work.” In the end, the emphasis of this teaching clearly seeks to diminish Jesus Christ’s imprint on the Bible, on history, and especially on believers today.

What a corruption of His precious Word!

Didn’t the apostle Paul write these Spirit-breathed words?

Now I say this, that each of you says, “I am of Paul,” or “I am of Apollos,” or “I am of Cephas,” or “I am of Christ.” Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?” (1 Corinthians 1:12-13)

Didn’t Paul teach the following?

We preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. (1 Corinthians 1:23-24)

And didn’t he write, “For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified” (1 Corinthians 2:2)?

Yet there are those today who claim that we should choose Paul’s revelations instead of Christ’s teachings. It doesn’t make sense!

Increasing Censorship and Persecution

We know that many countries persecute and even kill believers for daring to speak the name of Jesus. Yet, who would have thought that the day would come in “free” nations where Christians would be attacked, intimidated, sued, and even imprisoned for standing up for biblical values?

Today, the cancel culture and mob mentality have seemingly taken over. Many who proclaim the Gospel on the internet are immediately ridiculed and harassed—or worse.

Sad Woman on Computer

Some Christians have lost jobs over posting Scripture verses or positive messages and openly stating what would have been applauded mere years ago.

Ministries are routinely savaged online by faceless enemies as social media has become a battleground of “approved” hashtags and slogans. Large tech companies seem intent on censoring believers. Even the well-known internet search engines seem to be saying, “No Christians welcome here!”

Silencing Christ and His Followers

Today, as in the time when Christ walked on this earth, demands continue to be blasted from all sides, “Silence Him!”

To those demands, we must point to God’s Word and declare:

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. (Romans 1:16)

Jesus is the heart of the Gospel!

He can be found in every book of the Bible. The blood of Jesus Christ runs throughout the Word of God, from beginning to end. In fact one theologian put it this way, “Cut any book in the Bible and it runs red with the blood of Jesus!”

The Gospel of Jesus Christ must not be silenced, either from the world or the church!

More than ever before, we must follow the Great Commission as we stand boldly and unfettered to proclaim the message of salvation and miracles.

We Are Not Ashamed!

As my mother prepared to give birth to me, she prayed, “God, I have only one request. If you will give me a boy, I’ll give him back to you.” On Wednesday, December 3, 1953, her prayer was granted, and she followed through with her promise.

Who would have known that her son would end up preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ around the world?

I’ve told my Lord Jesus many times that I am His and will forever be His. I am completely and eternally committed to loving Him, serving Him, surrendering all to Him—no matter what the cost may be.

And what I have told him privately, I tell you: “Unto death!” Nothing in life matters but Jesus, Jesus, my precious Jesus!

I am so committed and so on fire to proclaim His name to the world that I shall not rest until I have fulfilled my destiny, and I’m asking you today, as my partner, to help me proclaim His precious name to the ends of the earth.

I know you love Him just as deeply as I do, and I know you’re equally committed to Him throughout eternity, so I ask you to help me keep the Gospel from being silenced! Help me go, GO, GO to the world and tell them about Jesus, Jesus, Jesus!!!

I turned 67 this past December, and I pray that I will have at least another 15-20 years to proclaim his name with fire and intensity. I have been preaching the Gospel now since 1974—nearly 46 glorious years of ministry. You have been a special part of all that we have done!

Yet my greatest desire is to finish stronger than when I began. Everything in my being is crying out, “Dear Jesus, let me serve you unto the end.”

Everything in my being is crying out: “I want to serve you with loyalty, faithfulness, and a heart enflamed with intense love for you!”

I mean every word I am writing to you and every word I have said.

What a privilege it is to serve Him, no matter the cost!

I remember when the late Ralph Wilkerson, a dear friend of mine, gave me Kathryn Kuhlman’s personal copy of Fox’s Book of Martyrs. As I opened the book, I saw in her own handwriting: “Grant me the privilege to be one of them.” I looked at Ralph and said, “Now I know why God used her. She was ready to die for her Redeemer!”

Dear partner, with all my heart I tell you, “So am I.” Every fiber of my being, every cell in my body, wants to spend every second of my life serving our wonderful Jesus.

Help Me Take the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the Nations

And I’m asking you today not only to pray for me, but to help me go to the nations, “having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth—to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people” (Revelation 14:6).

I am asking you to give today toward what God is doing in our midst. Whatever He places on your heart to do, please obey Him!

I truly believe that your seed will bring you a great harvest and great protection for your financial tomorrow, as we are promised:

Cast your bread upon the waters,

For you will find it after many days.

Give a serving to seven, and also to eight,

For you do not know what evil will be on the earth…

In the morning sow your seed,

And in the evening do not withhold your hand;

For you do not know which will prosper,

Either this or that,

Or whether both alike will be good. (Ecclesiastes 11:1-6)

There is a divine connection between your need and your seed. As you plant faithfully toward the work of the Gospel, you are promised protection and blessing in every area of your life.

The very first law to receiving any harvest is planting your seed. No matter how fertile the soil, if you don’t plant seeds into the ground, the seedling won’t emerge, grow up, and multiply. Nor will it bring protection for the future.

It all begins with the seed! And as a covenant believer, when you give, you can lay claim to God’s promises:

I will greatly protect you. I will set you in a high place, safe and secure before my face. I will answer your cry for help every time you pray, and you will find and feel my presence, even in your time of pressure and trouble. (Psalm 91:14-15 TPT)

Can I count on you today?

God is opening incredible doors, and I want you to be part of these awesome opportunities.

Help me bring His precious healing power to those in need. Help me stay strong on television and add to our outreach around the world.

We have been called to take that Gospel to the nations, regardless of pressures and persecutions. More than ever before, we must take a stand to “contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints” (Jude 1:3).

All heaven takes notice when we sow seed to bravely proclaim, “Jesus saves! Jesus saves! Jesus saves!”

This is an unusual hour, and we cannot, we must not, we will not lose the momentum that has started in recent days. Let’s do it together now, while there is still time.

The need is urgent! We are striving to preach the Word “in season and out of season” (2 Timothy 4:2). Even as we continue to spread the Gospel through more traditional methods, we are also moving quickly into new opportunities, such as our LIVE Zoom and Facebook miracle services, our ever-expanding websites, and the Benny Hinn Institute!

So I ask for your continued faithfulness. Whatever amount you give, wrap it with intense faith. Send it today. Join me in this mighty move. I wait with anticipation to receive your generous seed for the Gospel. And I know God will reward you abundantly as you make the supernatural connection between your need and your seed!

Remember our Father’s glorious promise to us:

“Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness” (2 Corinthians 9:10).

I truly believe the coming months will be the greatest times we have ever known—if we step out in faith and respond positively to the challenges we face!

Sow your seed today with high and holy expectation that God will make the remainder of 2020 your time of mountaintop experiences—your season of protection, abundance, favor, and heavenly victories as we cover the earth with the message of salvation and miracles!

Let’s do it together now for HIS name’s sake!

The wonderful old hymn tells us:

The name of Jesus is so sweet,

I love its music to repeat;

It makes my joys full and complete,

The precious name of Jesus.

Jesus! oh, how sweet the name,

Jesus! every day the same;

Jesus! let all saints proclaim

Its worthy praise forever.

Let’s tell the world that our Master, Jesus, is the only hope for the world today and, through our witness, we refuse to let His precious name be silenced!

The Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ must never be erased or quashed!
