A Covenant Anointing for You

I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me. (Jeremiah 32:40)

There was a knock at the door. “Stan” (the name I use to protect his identity), a young college student, opened it to discover a well-dressed man who began sharing the amazing news about an inheritance from a distant uncle.

“Is this a joke?” Stan asked.

The visitor assured the student it wasn’t, then continued relating the story. It quickly became apparent that everything had changed for the young student.

Ten years before he answered that knock at his dormitory door, Stan had in fact met this long-lost uncle in another country. No one in his family knew much about the uncle, but something the older man said during their brief meeting had been indelibly imprinted in Stan’s mind. As the old man talked about going through crisis and trouble—sharing a few details of his own struggles during the Great Depression and World War II—he had pointed upward a few times and said, “No matter what happens, look up!”

That brief meeting was Stan’s only encounter with the man. But during the ensuing years, as Stan faced the sickness and death of both parents, as well as other tragedies among his family members, he was reminded of the old gentleman gesturing and saying, “Look up!” He even wrote the words in large print on a piece of paper that he kept above his desk.

Stan had worked his way through high school and 3.5 years of college, but he had come to another time of crisis: he needed a large sum of money to finish his final semester before graduation. His funds were exhausted. A scholarship he had been expecting was instead ending. He was working as many hours as possible while still taking a full course schedule…but it was not nearly enough to finish.

On that very day, he had to decide whether to continue with his studies or drop out. And then he heard the knock. The visitor, an attorney representing the firm executing the elderly man’s estate, told Stan he had made quite an impression on his elderly uncle. Sometime during the past decade, Stan had been written into the older man’s will. And after his death, his uncle’s agents had tracked Stan down at the university.

Changed in a Moment

In one moment, the young man was changed from a penniless college student caught in a major crisis to a young man worth millions of dollars!

It was no joke. And he remembers turning around to look at the hand-lettered sign over his desk, LOOK UP! His uncle’s words had directed his attitude toward crisis through the years. And now his fortune had been inherited and changed everything.

Walking out of tunnel

The fortune had been willed to him for years, though he knew nothing about it, and the funds had actually belonged to him for several months while the agents tracked him down.

And here’s the part I like best about the story: Stan was able to continue his studies, finish his degree, and since then has become quite successful. More than ever before, he seems to be grounded and seeking wisdom rather than changing his lifestyle.

I’ve thought of that real-life story recently in relation to believers today. As we are surrounded by the swirling economic ups and downs and raging political currents, we know that looking up to God for answers and direction alone will bring safety.

I’ve also been reminded of the biblical lesson:

“Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33).

Look up!

What does Stan’s unusual story mean for you?

God wants to help you to not only survive the chaotic turbulence around you, but also to receive a supernatural anointing for abundance, even in the midst of crisis!

As the world struggles, God’s people will have supernatural provision—His covenant with you will never be broken.

The key to walking in financial victory both today and in the future is our covenant relationship with Him!

Stan had a covenant, a will, even though he was unaware of it until the moment he received the amazing news. That covenant changed everything for him!

Though the details and amounts may be different, I believe God desires for supernatural plenty to come to you!

A Divine Anointing for God’s Covenant Favor

I’ve shared how I believe with all my heart that we are in the midst of a release of anointing for abundance and property unlike anything we’ve seen before!

I continue to be amazed at the response, and I want to encourage you to “Look up!” For we know that “God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7).

Because you are a covenant person, God will take care of you, even in times of famine and difficulty. While the world struggles, you will rejoice, for the One you serve has given this promise:

In famine he shall redeem thee from death: and in war from the power of the sword. Thou shalt be hid from the scourge of the tongue: neither shalt thou be afraid of destruction when it cometh. At destruction and famine thou shalt laugh: neither shalt thou be afraid of the beasts of the earth. (Job 5:20-22)

The Word of God clearly states that the Lord will so take care of you that you will laugh in the face of destruction and famine because you belong to Him. Those things may affect the world, but they will not affect you! You are “a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17).

You are in this world, but you don’t belong to it, nor are you run by it! The world’s economy will continue to crumble, but your position as a believer is one of strength and power.

Satisfied!

The Bible declares:

“The LORD knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever. They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied” (Psalm 37:18-19).

We shall be satisfied! The Hebrew translation for this word is “filled to satisfaction.”

Your inheritance is forever! And your covenant with the Lord is meant to do you good:

I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me. (Jeremiah 32:40)

If you look to the world, you will lose, but if you look to God and His Word, you will be victorious and never lack.

Trust only in the Lord, and as you do, you will be blessed:

Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit. (Jeremiah 17:7-8)

God tells us that He will give us wealth to establish His covenant: “Thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day” (Deuteronomy 8:18).

We are also told:

“The earth is the LORD’s, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein” (Psalm 24:1)…and we know that He owns “the cattle upon a thousand hills” (Psalm 50:10).

The Word of God assures us that “the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just” (Proverbs 13:22), that “in the house of the righteous is much treasure” (Proverbs 15:6). And we can find joy in this promise: “I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten” (Joel 2:25).
