Today’s Key Scripture
“Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
— Hebrews 4:16
In my early days as a believer, I can remember praying in my bedroom, totally surrounded by the Lord’s glorious presence. Suddenly, I had a vision in which I was being drawn up in the spirit and carried away. As I looked down, I saw an endless line of people, slowly walking forward. Their faces seemed empty and somewhat confused. I didn’t understand what I saw, so I asked, “What does this mean?”
“Come closer,” a piercing voice said. I looked at the scene before me and saw people as far as the eye could see. They were all moving toward a large, deep valley, and that valley was an inferno. Thousands were falling into the fire.
The Lord then spoke to me and said, “If you do not preach, I will hold you responsible.”
Those words cut through me like a jagged sword. I knew, from that moment, I had to preach the Gospel.
And from that moment forward, when I kneel before the Lord, one prayer consistently floods through me: “Souls, Lord, souls! Open the doors for me to preach the Word so people everywhere will come to know You as their Savior and Lord.”
May God give you a strong vision and boldness through constant contact with Him.
A Prayer for Today
Precious Lord, full of grace and compassion, I ask for more and more souls to be drawn by Your Holy Spirit. Help me to be a vessel to share the good news of salvation. I pray that the harvest fields will be filled with people of all ages and cultures who feel Your tug on their hearts. May every stronghold of the Enemy that seeks to enslave and destroy be barricaded from the unsaved. Help me consecrate my heart to follow You daily, and may my cry be, “Souls, Lord, souls!” I pray this in the name of Jesus, amen.
