Today’s Key Scripture

“Arise, walk in the land through its length and its width, for I give it to you.”

— Genesis 13:17

When you enter into a covenant with God, your entire life is forever changed. We talk about the God of Abraham, and often forget that this future leader was born in the land of Ur, a center of moon worship. His father was a maker of idols, and the family knew nothing about the Lord. Yet God chose this man to be a key figure in the covenant that would eventually bring Christ to the world.

After Abraham’s father died, God said to him, “Get out of your country, from your family and from your father’s house, to a land that I will show you” (Genesis 12:1).

Imagine following God, not knowing where you are going. Our precious Lord wants you to experience His finest, but it requires action on your part, starting with His call to fellowship with Him daily.

It no doubt took years for the “father of Israel” to walk through the land. In the process, his fellowship with God grew closer, the relationship was sealed, and God fulfilled His promise.

God also wants to pour the blessings of heaven upon you as you fellowship together, but He is waiting for you to arise, to walk with boldness as you claim what is rightfully yours.

A Prayer for Today

My heavenly Father, I seek to arise and walk in Your victory, no matter where You lead me. Like Abraham, I want to follow You in a formidable covenant. I rest upon Your promises today. I ask for Your fresh anointing today. I long to be refreshed by the oil of Your Holy Spirit as it flows over my life. Father, I pray for Your will to be done in my life. I pray for you to use me to bring healing, deliverance, signs, wonders, and miracles to those around me. And I look forward today to all You have in store for me. I pray all this in the name above all names, Jesus, amen.
