Today’s Key Scripture – all references NKJV unless otherwise noted:

And a vision appeared to Paul in the night. A man of Macedonia stood and pleaded with him, saying, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.”

—Acts 16:9

More than once our staff has made detailed plans for a crusade or service, then the Holy Spirit has clearly warned me, “Don’t go.” I can’t explain it and I certainly don’t understand it, but I know how much He cares for me and my staff, and I have to obey His leading.  When He speaks that way, we change our plans.

When Paul and Silas traveled through the region of Galatia, they “were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to preach the word in Asia. After they had come to Mysia, they tried to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit did not permit them” (Acts 16:6, 7). That is when the Holy Spirit gave Paul a vision of a man from Macedonia.

You’ve heard this cliché before, but it won’t hurt to be reminded: “When God closes one door, He always opens another.” It’s true. Opening and closing doors is one way He clearly directs us, and when we listen, God can change everything!

When you let God chart your course, you will be on the right path. Remember, the Holy Spirit never makes a mistake. Trust Him to lead and He will do so with perfection.

A Prayer for Today:

Good Morning, Holy Spirit! Change my directions when I’m headed the wrong way. Draw me closer to You today. Help me to want what You desire in my life. Help me think and act in alignment with Your Word. Help me to dwell in Your presence, to deal wisely in life, and live honorably in everything I do today. Reveal any areas in me that need correction and change. I want more of You and less of me. I pray all this in the Name above all names, Amen!
