The Names of God

a4_99999228By Benny Hinn

As we read the Bible, we see many names that refer to God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

God, the great "I AM" (Exodus 3:14), is referred to by many different names throughout the Bible, each with a specific meaning and application. For example, they range from "Almighty God" (Genesis 17:1) to "the most High" (Psalm 91:9) to "The Lord of hosts" and "the Holy One of Israel" (Isaiah 54:5) to YAH or YAHWEH (Psalm 68:4).

The name of the Lord Jesus is the Greek form of the Hebrew name Joshua, which means "YAHWEH saves". And this is exactly what YAHWEH, the Lord God, did for us through the shed blood of His Son, Jesus Christ.

Manifestations of the Spirit

By Benny Hinn

I have often wondered why, in my own meetings, the Spirit directs me so often to pray for healing. And I have wondered why my ministry has been accompanied by people who fall under the power of the Holy Spirit. But when I look at the results of the meetings, I see that every manifestation of the Spirit is for one purpose: to bring people to Christ.

It is a demonstration that God is alive, that He is still “moving” in the lives of people.

I have seen thousands of people literally fall under the power of the Spirit, and I believe that just a small touch of God’s power is all they felt. But it demonstrates the awesome strength of the Almighty, and it draws people to the Savior.

Fasting is for Everyone

By Jentezen Franklin

Perhaps you're thinking, "I still don't know how fasting can really be for me." According to the words of Jesus, it is the duty of every disciple and every believer to fast.

When addressing the Pharisees as to why His disciples did not fast, Jesus replied, "Can you make the friends of the bridegroom fast while the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them; then they will fast in those days" (Luke 5:34-35).

Then they will fast. Jesus didn't expect His disciples to do something He hadn't done as well. Jesus fasted, and according to the words of Peter, Jesus is our example in all things (1 Peter 2:21).
