There is a tremendous power in the upraised hands. The Bible is full of this truth and yet it is one of the great truths, which we do not understand. Neither is there much teaching on it.
In the Old Testament we read how God’s people availed themselves of every avenue that was scriptural in order to have the mighty power of God work in their lives. There is no doubt that God’s power was made real to His people when they raised their hands in faith.
I like to see people raise their hands high above their heads. That is the old-time Pentecostal way. The new Charismatic uplift of the hands seems so half-hearted. Probably this is because it is only “half-mast.” When a flag flies half-mast it is a sign of death. Let us go beyond the “half-mast” salute and get our hands up higher so we can really praise the Lord and even wave our hands before the Lord as a wave offering unto Him like the priests of old did in the temple of the Lord (Exodus 29:24).

For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

In Ephesians 6, Paul the apostle gives us the weapons necessary for a victorious Christian life. In order to be strong as a mighty overcomer and as you pursue total recovery, you must put on your armor.
“Loins girt about with truth” - Your mind is the first place you have to protect with the Word of God:
“Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness” (Ephesians 6:13-14).
