Dynamic Teaching, Mighty Miracles Fill Orlando’s Orange County Convention Center

The Orlando event, held December 11–13, featured dynamic teaching by Pastor Benny Hinn on the topic of the Holy Spirit.

“Without the power of God,” he began, “no matter what you try, it doesn’t work! You will only finish strong if the power of God is in your own life.”

He built a foundation by explaining the Trinity, citing Jeremiah 23:23-24 and Psalm 139:1-12: “The Bible unfolds a mystery that we could not know any other way than by revelation of the Holy Spirit—that God is one, yet three in spirit. The most awesome revelation in the Bible has to do with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the limitless source of power in the Godhead. In fact, the Holy Spirit is the agent through whom God knows everything. He is everywhere by the Holy Spirit. God through the Holy Spirit is present everywhere. Jesus through the Holy Spirit is present everywhere. The key is the Holy Spirit.”

He pointed to Genesis 1:2: “And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.”

“When the word and the Spirit are united,” he continued, “creation is the result. The faith message taught the word and forgot about the Spirit or the breath of God. Faith cannot deny fact. Faith can change fact. The Bible says it is the breath of God. When the Spirit and the word become united, creation is the result. There is a reason why only one of the Godhead can be present on planet Earth at one time. The Holy Spirit is the active agent of the Godhead. Without the Holy Spirit, no man in the Old Testament or the New Testament could have served God. Not a man or a woman could serve God today without the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the sole source of power in the lives of Moses, David, Paul, and others. Without the breath of God, you are wasting your time. So it is smart to get back to the source. The source of power of Jesus during His life and His ministry was the Holy Spirit. According to Acts 1:1-2, Jesus was dependent on the Holy Spirit even after His resurrection. If Jesus needed the Holy Spirit after His resurrection, how much more do we need Him?”

He shared how the Holy Spirit is our limitless resource:

In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified. (John 7:37-39)

“Without the Holy Spirit you are sunk,” Pastor Benny proclaimed, pointing to the promise of Pentecost. “A tree has the nature of the seed. Everything about you goes back to your birth. Your birth is the foundation of who you are. And everything about Pentecost has to do with the Holy Spirit. Without the Holy Spirit, we have no provisions. Pentecost was the manifestation and the fulfillment of the promise. The Holy Spirit has been deposited in you for the coming age. According to Ephesians 1:13-14, the Holy Spirit is the seal for the deposit of the coming age. Without this deposit, we have no guarantee that we will get to the coming age.”

He finished the first conference session by sharing the steps needed by all who desire to be used by the Holy Spirit:

1. Repent and be baptized (Acts 2:27-28)
2. Ask the Father (Luke 11:9-13)
3. Be thirsty (John 7:37-39)
4. Come to the Baptizer (John 7:37)
5. Actively receive within your heart
6. Surrender
7. Present yourself (Romans 12:1)

Session Two Highlights
It was apparent to all how much Pastor Benny was enjoying teaching during the conference about the Holy Spirit. That enjoyment spilled over to those throughout the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando.

He pointed to a portion of Scripture in Acts—“And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples, he said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost” (Acts 19:1-2).

“Paul takes these people under his care and tells them the full message of the Gospel,” he taught. “Then he asks, ‘Have you received the Holy Spirit?’ For a Christian to be healthy, it is so important that you understand this: you must be empowered by the Spirit or you will not be a healthy Christian. The Holy Spirit is the agent of the Godhead on the earth. According to Psalm 139:7, the Holy Spirit is the presence of God on this planet. The Holy Spirit is the power of God in every believer. Paul met the Lord on the road to Damascus, yet because he met Jesus does not mean that you have the power you need to live the Christian life. Paul is a good example of it. Ananias laid hands on Paul to receive the power of the Holy Spirit. It’s not enough to meet Jesus. You have to also receive His power. It not enough to know Jesus as the external Christ. He must indwell you.”

Pastor Benny shared the fact that when the Lord was on the earth, He spent over three years training His disciples, teaching them day after day, but they still did not understand what He was saying.

“When Jesus stood and ministered to the crowds,” he taught, “they only heard His voice. Why? Because He was the external Jesus, the external Christ. Before the cross, they said ‘We will die with You.’ But when the test came, they could not do it. They had the willingness but not the power to do it. But then the Lord descended upon them by the Holy Spirit, and they underwent a complete transformation on the day of Pentecost. When He came as the internal Christ, they had the willingness and the ability to do it. It is the power that enables you to do it. And when the power is there, you will fulfill what you have said. After Pentecost, they were able to fulfill what they said. Only the indwelling Christ enabled them to do what they said before the cross.”

He pointed to the fact that the church was born on the day of Pentecost. “If a tree grows according to its seed, let’s ask a question about our growth as Christians. You were not born at Calvary or Gethsemane or in Galilee. You were born at Pentecost. Your birth decides everything about you. You and I must not rest until we experience everything that belongs to us by birth. The day of Pentecost must guide and govern your life.”

Pastor Benny explained how the first disciples serve as our examples in four specific ways:

1. They were very attached to Jesus physically and emotionally. They enjoyed His company. They were willing to forsake job and family to follow Him. You cannot be filled with the Spirit unless you are attached to the Son of God.
2. They left everything (Luke 14:33). Now, we are in the middle of two worlds and we stand between two worlds that are in conflict with each other: the world of the flesh and the world of the Spirit. The world we live in has great power. This world pulls us toward it moment by moment. It pulls at us with great force, and you have to pull away from it with greater force. You must break free from it. Without sacrifice, we cannot receive His power. You must separate yourself from the world and from those who love it. I am attached to Jesus.
3. They recognized their enemies. Today we have two great enemies: the world without and the self within. It is possible to forsake the world while self has control over you. Self is more powerful than the world. I can walk away from the world, but I have to bring myself under subjection to the cross.
4. They held fast to the promise He gave of power, when He said, “Tarry ye in Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high” (Luke 24:49). They held on even though they did not understand they would receive this power. They tarried in the Upper Room for 10 days even though they did not understand what He had said. They held on to His promise. Why did they hold on to that promise? Because they believed Him. These are the conditions for the fullness of power.

The conference ended on Saturday evening with a time of praise and worship, adoring and magnifying the Lord Jesus.

Sunday’s Miracle Service
The weekend in Orlando closed with an exciting miracle service on December 13. A choir of several hundred helped to create an atmosphere of praise and worship. Pastor Benny preached a straightforward message of salvation, challenging all in attendance to make a decision regarding their soul’s eternal destiny. As he extended the invitation for salvation, hundreds of hands were raised all over the conference center. The people then streamed toward the front, individuals of all ages, many with tear-stained faces in anticipation of what was about to happen. Pastor Benny led them in a prayer of repentance and surrender.

After a special number by the choir, he quickly moved into his faith-filled message on healing, offering scriptural examples of instances where Jesus healed all. As his message came to a close, a strong anointing for miracles descended, and people began to feel God’s healing touch all over the auditorium.

Miracles that happened during the service include:

• A teenage girl and her mother came to the Miracle Service with the help of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The teenager suffered with a brain tumor and had been bedridden for some time. Doctors had given her no hope. Prior to attending the Miracle Service, she was watching Pastor Benny on This Is Your Day! and felt God’s touch on her body, which enabled her to stand and begin to walk. During the Miracle Service, she felt the healing power of the Holy Spirit descend on her, and all the pain in her head left. She felt stronger and stood for some time, waiting to share her testimony of healing. As she stood at the side of the platform, she repeated the same phrase over and over to herself: “My God, I can’t believe it! I can’t believe it!” She shared her testimony of healing with Pastor Benny, and her mother wept tears of joy as her daughter rejoiced at the miracle of healing that had taken place in her body.
• A 20-year-old woman had suffered with arthritis for 19 years, beginning with an accident. The pain had been crippling. During the service, all the pain left! The young woman began to walk and move around with no pain or encumbrance.
• A young blond woman had cancer of the spleen that had metastasized (spread). She had been hospitalized with very little hope from her physicians. In desperation, she checked herself out of the hospital and came to the Miracle Service expecting a miracle. She still had IVs and bandages on her arms from the hospital. She arrived at the service in a wheelchair, reclined because she could not sit or stand due to the pain and the size of the tumor in her abdomen. She came with her mother, who joined her in agreeing for her miracle. God’s healing touch descended upon her in a marvelous way before the service even began as some of the BHM healing team and others agreed with her in prayer for her miracle! She felt such a change in her body that she got out of her wheelchair and was able to stand and walk without pain. She moved from the wheelchair to a normal chair, which she sat on for five hours during the service. When she came to the platform later in the service to testify of the miracle that had taken place in her body, she stood in line for some time on her own strength. As she came to the platform, her mother wept tears of joy and rejoiced at what God had done for her! Pastor Benny laid hands on her repeatedly before asking her to do what she could not do previously: stand and walk and bend. As she began to do all these things, a smile beamed on her face because of the healing that had happened in her life. The crowd throughout the Orange County Convention Center praised God for the miracle literally walking across the stage in front of them!
• A 67-year-old man who suffered from neuropathy and nerve damage came in a motorized wheelchair. Pain spilled throughout his body. During the service, he felt God’s healing touch. Empowered, he stood and walked out of his wheelchair with no pain in his body.
• A woman arrived at the Sunday service 50 percent deaf and wearing hearing aids. During the service she realized she was hearing better, so she removed the hearing aids. Then she realized that she was hearing perfectly! She came to the platform with the hearing aids in her hand, rejoicing at what God had done for her.
• A lady who came into the convention center on an electric scooter had suffered with severe pain in her legs and high blood pressure. Suddenly, as the pain left her legs, she stood and walked away from her scooter, rejoicing and free from all pain.
• A woman who arrived in a wheelchair had suffered with arthritis in her legs for years. She also had a spinal disc problem. She shared that God had touched her before the service began and all the pain had left her legs. She was seen pushing her wheelchair out of the auditorium, sharing, “I’ve already been healed. God has answered my prayer. I’m going home to tell my family!”
• A woman who was deaf in one ear and wore a hearing aid received a healing touch and began to hear with her deaf ear. She trembled under the power of the Holy Spirit as Pastor Benny laid hands on her, thanking God for the miracle.
• A man, accompanied by his daughter, came to testify of God’s healing from kidney problems. He had been wheelchair-bound previously. Prior to the service, God touched him as members of the BHM healing team moved through the audience, agreeing with individuals for their miracle. He made his way to the men’s room and returned a few moments later, rejoicing that he had no pain from the condition and that he had been able to urinate for the first time without any pain.
• An older woman came to the platform with her husband to testify of God’s healing touch from fibromyalgia. She had suffered with the crippling effects and pain of the condition for 50 years. Previously, she had been unable to move about without pain. However, she testified that all the pain was gone, rejoicing that a half century of torment had come to an end!
• A woman in a wheelchair had been unable to walk because of a problem that caused her to lose her balance. As God’s power touched her, she got out of her wheelchair, put her cane aside, and began to walk about without assistance.

Time did not allow for all the people to come to the platform and testify about all who had received a miracle.

Mighty Move of God
Pastor Benny offered a special time to reflect on memories of his years of pastoring in the Orlando area and to reconnect with friends and many who had attended the Orlando Christian Center.

“What a powerful Fire Conference and Miracle Service,” Pastor Benny reported. “God continues to move in such a mighty way. Throughout 2009 we have seen a growing anointing. People are coming to services so hungry for God’s power and presence. There is such an openness to the Gospel. God did something truly incredible in Orlando.
