Costa Rica Fire Conference and Miracle Service Called Historic

San José’s Iglesia Oasis de Esperanza en Moravia, led by Pastor Raúl Vargas, is one of Costa Rica’s leading churches. This exciting church hosted the August 14–15, 2009, Benny Hinn Ministries Fire Conference that was attended by people throughout the region.

The spiritual hunger of the people attending the conference seemed to permeate the air. Many pastors and ministers were in attendance, and Pastor Benny Hinn addressed many of his remarks to them, encouraging them to get back to the cross and to fall in love all over again with Jesus.

“I want to share something that happened to me on July 5,” Pastor Benny began. “I made a sacred decision that has already affected my life deeply. On that day I told my precious Redeemer that I would begin to seek Him more than I have ever sought Him. I have always been a man of prayer. Otherwise I would not be who I am or what I am today. I have sought the Lord, and He has opened up doors around the world. Still, I have known for some time that the Lord was calling me to a much deeper walk with Him. I knew He wanted a greater commitment to seek Him with all my being. That decision has been made. I’m not turning back from it, for it is a sacred decision. More than ever before, I know that He longs for our love and intimacy, and He deserves our absolute love and surrender. He is the lover of our souls, and He wants to be in the life of each believer.”

Back to the Cross
With a large percentage of pastors and ministers in the conference, Pastor Benny said, “Some preachers have been fired and they don’t even know it! God is more merciful and longsuffering than any of us. When you find out how patient God is, you know what happens to you? You begin to desire the fear of God because when you see His mercy, you don’t want to lose it. But there are some preachers who have no fear of God. We serve a very jealous Lord and He wants all of you, and He will wait until the right moment to show you how dangerous it is if you don’t give Him everything. It’s very easy to begin a ministry right; it’s difficult to finish right. And I can tell you that I have come to Costa Rica ready to minister! Without Him, our life is empty. Without Him, our ministry means nothing. I am here to tell you, `I have gone back to the cross.’ I can tell you that when you fall in love with Him all over again, everything changes. Are you ready?”

Amid thundering acclamation, Pastor Benny quoted Psalm 42:1-3: “As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God? My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say unto me, Where is thy God?”

He explained that deer understand one thing about the water: when the deer is chased, it finds water and gets in it so the its scent is lost. As long as the deer is in that water, no wild animal can get to it. It is protected from being harmed. Without that water, there’s danger; in that water is protection and safety.

Pastor Benny said, “I am here to tell every pastor and every preacher—find the water, and the devil will never find you. As with the hart, our place of safety is the water. If we lose the presence of God, we are in danger. As long as our life is immersed in His presence, there is no danger; there is safety. Satan is not a toothless lion. Satan is a powerful and wicked lion. He is a powerful enemy, and you cannot defeat him by yourself.”

Ask, Seek, Knock
Pastor Benny’s teaching continued as he talked about the need to seek the Lord. He taught how our spiritual strength will come back and we will become discerning to the winds of the Spirit.

He pointed to the example of the eagle: “The eagle allows the wind to carry him. He will not spread his wings until the wind current is strong. When he surrenders to the wind, it carries him higher and higher.”

Surrendering to God is the central focus of Matthew 7:7: “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.”

“Isaiah the prophet said that seeking the Lord happens only in the spirit realm,” said Pastor Benny. “And walking with God means fellowship.”

A powerful anointing filled the auditorium at the close of the service, with people praying quietly.

Saturday’s Session
The second session was carried live by TBN’s Enlace, seen throughout Central and South America.

Pastor Benny spoke tenderly about the Holy Spirit, asking, “Do you know how deep God is? He is the One who is so awesome, so powerful, so glorious. So awesome is God Almighty that the angels bow before Him and cry, `Holy, holy, holy.’ They bow before the throne, yet everything the angels know about God they know because of His dealings with you. They bow because they are watching His mercy revealed to the children of men. The Holy Spirit cannot reveal God to the angels because He has not been revealed to them. But God says to you, `I love you with an everlasting love.’ The blood was not shed for the angels; it was shed for you! The Holy Spirit, the Bible says, searches the very depths of God and reveals that depth to us. The Bible says the Person of the Holy Spirit searches all things, the deep things of God.”

Citing the need for God to reveal the riches and treasures of His truth, Pastor Benny moved into a time of dynamic, powerful anointing as he concluded his message and ministered to many of the pastors and leaders.

At the end of the final service, tears flowed freely throughout Iglesia Oasis de Esperanza en Moravia as hands lifted upward in praise as for all that God had done in their midst.

Looking to the Future
“What a powerful time we had here in San José with Pastor Raúl Vargas and so many wonderful people!” Pastor Benny reported after the final service. “Something wonderful is happening. God is doing a mighty work through the Fire Conferences and Miracle Services. There is a hunger here in Costa Rica, and God has so much more in store for the beautiful people throughout Central and South America.
