Charlotte’s Convention Center Hosts Anointed Training for Ministry Conference
On Friday, February 9, 2007, the first night of the Training for Ministry Conference in Charlotte, North Carolina, Pastor Benny announced that he would teach on three exciting topics. This announcement was met with resounding applause and excitement.
With powerful worship and anointed teaching, the evening proved to be a life-changing time of preparation for believers who were intent on discovering,in a greater way, how to minister more effectively during the last days.
The first session focused on how to pray effectively.
Pastor Benny shared important keys on how to pray:
Pray unto God—Acts 12:5
The prayer that has power is the prayer that is offered unto God. Prayer demands a face-to-face encounter with God. The Holy Spirit must bring me to God. I cannot come on my own.
Prayer must be constant—Acts 12:5
We must intensely stretch out to God. We are commanded to pray without ceasing. Groanings point to constant prayer.
We are to wait upon Him.Don’t say a word until He touches you. Don’t make any selfish requests or ask for anything. Just wait in silence.
Many partners and friends of the ministry commented that they had never heard such tremendous keys to prayer presented in a clear-cut way before.
Saturday Morning Enthusiasm Builds
People came early to again pack the facility. They were not disappointed as Pastor Benny moved from effective prayer to how to study the Bible.
Conditions for effective study include these highlights:
- You must be a person of the Spirit.
- You must hunger for God’s Word.
- You must be willing to work hard, to study.
- You must surrender to God.
- You must come with the heart of a child.
- You must study the Word of God as the true Word of God and not the word of a man.
- You must realize that God speaks through man as His instrument, according to 1 Thessalonians 2:13: “For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.”
- You must study the Scriptures prayerfully.
From here Pastor Benny went on to discuss how to begin studying the Scriptures, using examples from his own life. He cited illustrations on how he applies these same principles to his life to “rightly divide the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15).
He challenged every person to be a good student of God’s Word by reading God’s Word and studying it systematically: “Don’t borrow truth; research it yourself! As you go through the Word verse by verse, look for the Son of God in everything you read! Everything is a revelation of Jesus!”
Saturday Evening Intensity
Everyone seemed primed for the capstone study on Saturday evening when Pastor Benny introduced “The Presence and Power of the Holy Spirit.”
Pastor Benny contrasted the difference between the presence and the power of the Holy Spirit, stating that the presence of God cannot be felt. It is the power of the Holy Spirit that we feel.
“When the presence of Jesus becomes tangible, the flesh dies,” he taught. “The presence of God stills the soul; the power of God stirs the soul. It is God’s will to release His power to His people.”
As Pastor Benny began concluding his teaching, a mighty anointing of the Holy Spirit swept through the room. Pastor Benny began ministering to individuals as God gave words of knowledge. Simultaneously, an anointing for miracles descended and people all over the auditorium began to experience God’s healing touch!
As many came to testify of miracles, the anointing of the Holy Spirit intensified. Pastor Benny ministered to many of the pastors who were attending the conference, inviting them to the front of the auditorium and challenging them to preach the Gospel and win the lost at any cost.
As the conference drew to a close, Pastor Benny announced his plans to return to the area in 2008 for another miracle crusade.
“I have been so excited to return to Charlotte for this Training for Ministry Conference,” Pastor Benny says. “This is such a special area with amazing people, and what a great time we had seeing longtime partners and ministry friends and meeting new friends. During this wonderful time of praise and worship, God gave me a special word to help equip each person who attended for spiritual warfare and anointed ministry!”
